University Professor

Javier Chavez is Visiting Professor of Global Studies at Truett-McConnell University. A graduate of Lee University (B.A.), Wheaton College Graduate School (M.A.), and Biola University (Ph.D.). Among his teaching courses are: Intercultural Communications, Introduction to Great Commission, Current Topics in North American Missions, Theology of Mission, Global Studies and International Development, History of Western Civilization, Latin American Politics & Current Affairs, among others.

Javier Chavez was the church planter and pastor of Amistad Cristiana Lima in Peru from 2001-2013. In 2016 Amistad Cristiana Gainesville in Georgia, USA was launched becoming today one of the rapid growing Hispanic evangelical congregations in the region.

Institutional Leader

Javier Chavez has served in different leadership roles within the Southern Baptist Convention and the Georgia Baptist Mission Board.
